Y's Story:
Laura’s Story
At the YMCA-YWCA we are devoted to helping children like Laura, a child born into a life of drugs and uncertainty, and because of the Y and the support of our members they have their lives transformed.
When Laura was three, her mother over¬dosed. Margaret, her grandmother, who was a Y member, decided to enroll her in the Y child care program. Since then Laura has continued to “grow up” in the Y and has de¬veloped the confidence she needs to succeed in life.
Laura and her grandmother will always be grateful for the role the Y played in helping her overcome her challenging upbringing and for the gift of a second chance. You can make a difference in the life a child like Laura by giving a monthly gift of $15. Help us to continue to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities by taking part in our Strong Kids Campaign this year.
